Inhalt
This course is for students with at least a B2 level of English who would like to develop their language skills towards C1 and become more confident communicating in academic and professional settings. It is also excellent preparation for students planning to study or complete a semester abroad in an English-speaking or international environment. The main focus is on speaking and interacting in English. You will explore topics related to your own field of study through TED Talks and other keynote presentations, share and discuss the key ideas in small groups, and lead discussions with your fellow students. In a relaxed atmosphere, this gives you plenty of opportunity to practise speaking spontaneously, express your opinions, ask and answer questions, and build confidence while also gaining insights into other students’ fields of study. You will also work on professional writing, including career-related texts and email correspondence. AI will be used as a writing tool, but with a critical approach: you will compare and evaluate AI-generated texts, identify strengths and weaknesses, and improve them yourself. Throughout the course, we will also work on grammar, vocabulary, idiomatic English and professional style as they arise naturally in our speaking and writing activities.
